TRANSIT

In the spring of 2003 Hungary held a referendum about joining the European Union and by May 1st of the following year became a member. In a hypothetical moment the EU border was on both ends of the country.
Along the greatest diameter of Hungary an almost straight line of highways connect our western neighbour, Austria with Ucraine on the East.
I kept asking myself during the back and forth travels whether this political (and social) shift makes any visible difference in the landscape, or in the expectations of people living nearby the Transit Road.
The project was completed between November of 2002 and summer of 2003.
